HEARTH – Jackie writes about our second gathering at Beltane 2007.

Sunday 6 May was another wonderful gathering. Beginning with apple and elderflower juice and some time for introductions and catching up.   Followed by smudging to cleanse and prepare us. Sarah led us into Heart Centered Council, which was a beautiful time for silent reflection; to hear the sounds of Nature, through the open door; to hear the thoughts from within our own hearts and the heart of the Earth.  Whether silently acknowledged or spoken, we were able to witness them within the circle.

We then had a delicious supper, with the chance to mingle and enjoy the garden.

I led my Beltane Ceremony in three parts:-

1)  joining hands to circle the symbolic Beltane fire – releasing and wishing and receiving a wand to represent male energy

2)  making crowns, to represent female energy, with greenery gathered from Orchard Barn, and decorating the wands and crowns with bright ribbons

3)  celebrating unity and blessing each other with a crowning We circle danced, cheerfully and chaotically, wearing the crowns and holding the wands.  We then grounded the energy through the wands into the Earth, as a healing.

The fabulous fluidity continues.  This time we were:  (standing left to right) Penny, Carole, Jez, Emma, Sue, Kaaren (sitting left to right) Jackie, Gary, Sarah, and, when he felt like it, Echo the cat!
