Hearth - Third Gathering - Lammas Sat 28 July 2007 

Beginning with pear juice, tea and introductions.  Followed by smudging to cleanse and bring us into circle. 

Sarah led us into Heart Centred Council:Drawing energy through breath, from the Earth, into our Hearts and connecting with the circle.  We shared a period of silent meditation, which led into heartfelt spoken communication, with a focus on Nature and the beginning of Harvest. 

We then blessed and shared an abundant - table heaving - lunch and relaxed conversion. 

Jackie led a Lammas Ceremony in three parts:

1)  separating wheat grains from the chaff/husks and creating Harvest Blessing Bundles

2)  honouring each other with Blessings of Harvest

3)  sharing local bread and honey in thankfulness

 We circle danced to Summer Blessing and sent out Light as we extinguished the flame. The tribal fluidity expands. 

This time we were:  Sarah, Tony, Sue, Carole, Annette, Cathy, Joanna, Gary and me.

Touching the match, waiting for creeping flame

We know ourselves linked by chains of fires

To everyone who has kept a hearth

We see Mothers, Fathers, back to beginnings

Huddled beside holes in the Earth

Guarding the magic no other being has learned

Awed, reverent, before the sacred fire

Sharing warmth with the tribe.
