PRECURSOR

Today I saw a snowdrop,
elliptical spearhead quivering upright,
sheltered by the bramble hedge,
not yet flaunting its bobbling white bonnet,
waiting for the increase of light.

Yesterday I saw catkins,
cleaving cylindrical cocoons dangling down,
extending arch of hazel
to bestow golden inner pollen,
like ideas for dissemination.

Tomorrow then, willow buds,
fur gray paws brushing the moisture laden air,
morning yawn animated
to become sun bright pussy willow,
intention manifest.
