IMBOLC 2006
Pre-Imbolc, snowdrops are still below ground,
huddled siblings in the dark thawing earth
protected from buffets of raucous wind,
occasionally warmed by rays of sun
breaking through cloud cover that seems the norm.
This Imbolc, I huddle down in duvet
before the woodstove, fire snap crackling,
fed by logs retrieved from the sponge damp land,
reading recent poems, pleased to be in print,
grateful for the warmth of intentions shared.
