SAMHAIN

Flicker fire flames spark the Samhain night,

Burned earth black,

Sharp elder hag where once was swaying harvest.

Log hiss,

Candle glow on Cerridwen's cauldron,

Wide, deep, dark with ancient wisdom.

Leaf rattle, cloud scud with night wind rising,

Shatter sickle scry-moon light in inky blood wine.

Watch intoxicated, shiver-thrilled,

As mighty Herne, velvet night-cloaked,

Rides wild, Samhain skies…
