Sarah writes about Samhain
The festival of SAMHAIN is at the end of October/beginning of November. It is a time of beginnings and of endings - the start of the Celtic New Year - a time when Nature's cycle is both replete and complete. Nature's energy visibly withdraws - seemingly dormant, however, much is happening at an unseen level.
It is a time when we humans can consciously start to slow down and enter our own Winter and quieter time. Samhain marks the start of this period of reflection and renewal of purpose. It is a time for composting, releasing, burning all that is dead. Death and decay are witnessed, acknowledged, embraced for what they are are - a necessary and natural part of the yearly cycle.
It is also a time when we remember those who have walked this land before us. A time to honour our ancestral gifts - embodying these gifts in our still time. It is a time to practice patience and trust - and we are not alone in this
...... What ancestral gifts are you embodying in this lifetime?
